Carbon Neutrality & Reporting

Science-Based Targets Initiative

We are part of the Science-Based Targets initiative, committing to a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 from a 2023 baseline. This target was approved through the SME-exclusive streamlined validation process. We are also committed to measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions.

Additionally, our quick progress in sustainability has been acknowledged by the United Nations Global Compact and the U.S. Federal Department of Commerce. Our Director, Amay Sheth, has represented small and medium-sized enterprises as a panelist in webinars for both organizations.

No Poverty

We prioritize suppliers and subcontractors who offer above-market wages and positive working conditions, even if it means higher costs. This is especially crucial with vendors in India. Additionally, we support organizations like Diamonds Do Good and Share & Care Foundation, which empower individuals in economically challenged communities and bolster the natural diamond industry.

Good Health & Wellbeing

We adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, promoting safe and dignified working conditions. We also contribute to healthcare-focused charities, including Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, and American Red Cross, that provide emergency relief and healthcare in impoverished regions, especially for children.

Quality Education

We offer lifelong learning opportunities to our team and their families, supporting education through upskilling and allowing team members to partially homeschool their children during work hours. Our philanthropic contributions to education-focused organizations, like UNICEF and Diamonds Do Good, help improve access to education in underprivileged communities.

Gender Equality

With 37% of our team identifying as female, we support gender equality and are signatories of the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). We have an upskilling program to train female team members for management roles, promoting gender diversity and career growth.

Affordable & Clean Energy

We have transitioned to fossil fuel-free facilities by replacing diesel generators with clean energy sources, upgrading 70% of our lighting to energy-efficient units, and using LED lights. We also offset Scope 3 emissions by purchasing credits that support UNFCCC's Hazira Project, which replaced its use of fossil fuels with cleaner energy sources.

Decent Work & Economic Growth

We prioritize a positive work environment, paying above-market salaries, providing generous benefits, and promoting work-life balance in our New York and Geneva offices. We also prefer suppliers who offer positive conditions to their employees, even at a higher cost.

Industry Innovation & Infrastructure

Our operational practices use advanced technologies, like in-house machines to test for synthetic diamonds and iTraceiT, a blockchain-based traceability solution. This enhances the quality and integrity of our sourcing processes.

Reduced Inequalities

Climate Action

Life On Land

Our green growth initiative promotes tree planting to sequester carbon dioxide and boost biodiversity. We offset Scope 2 emissions with Terrapass's Green e-Certified Renewable Energy Certificates, supporting local reforestation and renewable energy projects. We also provide separate appliances and options for our vegetarian and vegan staff.

We adhere to ethical standards set by leading industry bodies like the Responsible Jewelry Council, World Diamond Council, and the Kimberley Process. Our commitment reflects our values in promoting positive change, social inclusivity, and global well-being.
